4th Annual {Virtual} Art Show to Benefit The CCAP

November 30th through December 6th

The Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program

You're Invited to join Pedal Power in taking part of "Giving Tuesday." Because Youth Cycling tugs on our heart string we will benefit the Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program. Visit the our {virtual} art gallery, and support the CCAP at the same time. Local artists and their pieces are {virtually} on display and up for sale, with proceeds to benefit the CCAP. A suggested donation of $10 can be made to the CCAP directly below. Mention The CCAP when you purchase from an artist's site.

The Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure that Connecticut's youth and their families have access and exposure to an organized state-wide youth cycling league. Additionally, youth and their parents should be able to see a clear avenue that allows them to develop as far as their ambition, skills and abilities can take them. The sport of cycling teaches a child or young adult a wealth of values, social skills and mindsets that help them become successful in every aspect of their life, and the CCAP is proud to provide kids across the state with the opportunity to participate in a safe and positive team-based environment.
Since being founded in 2013, the CCAP has started 46 middle school, high school, and youth travel team cycling programs around CT. 549 kids currently participate in the CCAP's mountain bike, road bike, and cyclocross leagues.
The CCAP was honored to be the Local Organizing Committee of the 2017 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships in Hartford. It is also recognized by USA Cycling as the 2016 club of the year and a three-time awardee as a Centers of Excellence. Mostly recently CCAP was named the
USA Cycling's 2019 Division 1 Club of the Year.

Robert W. Davidson

Inspiration comes from my visual sensation of things that reflect my daily experiences and interest ... both structural or organic - sometimes the same. The element of light has a significant impact on my ideas, light exposes the quality of a subject both representationally and abstractly, this visual experience initiates my desire to respond creatively. The medium (drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, photography) that I choose is often driven by the visual message that I want to convey - for me the medium choice is a tool that complements the mark making process.  However, my interest in color and shapes also inspire my need to create as well. Dug Art

We have all had unforgettable moments that lodge themselves deep in our consciousness. When recalled, invariably I feel compelled to try and represent them artistically. My life experience racing a bicycle has provided a multitude of images. These images have been central to the production of my art, because as I recall them, I feel compelled to try and represent them artistically. Please mention "The CCAP" to the artist when you purchase from their site.

K. B. Edwards Art

Kimberly B Edwards

Kimberly B Edwards is an emerging artist residing in the River Valley region of Connecticut in East Haddam, with her husband and two dogs, where they enjoy the beauty of the river, the Goodspeed airport, the charm of town, and the old steam train. A neuropsychologist, she is fascinated with human perception, both in the process of making art and viewing it. Her works are primarily in pastel, often expressive figures and scenes, but she also incorporates themes reflecting her passions as a private pilot and former competitive track cyclist.    Her paintings have been shown at the Lyme Art Association, the Connecticut Pastel Society, Spectrum Art Gallery,  Maple and Main Gallery, Mystic Museum of Art, Middletown Art Guild, and the Essex Art Association. Please mention "The CCAP" to the artist when you purchase from their site.

New England Illustration and Design

Tina McCurdy

I am a fine artist who captures nature's details in paint and pencils. Every work of art is created with passion and curiosity. I explore techniques with a variety of mediums and surfaces. I studied under prestigious professors at RISID and Brown, graduating from RISID with a BFA Illustration. During my studies, I focused on Scientific and Medical Illustration. Through the years I have expanded my works of art to include whimsical subjects.
The scale of my artwork included murals located in USA, Canada and Europe; lately, a series of tiny canvases, each detailed in vibrant color.
My artwork is held in private/corporate collections throughout the world and had been on display in galleries and museums throughout the USA. Partnering with local business, my artwork is available for purchase. Buy Art. Be Happy. Please mention "The CCAP" to the artist when you purchase from their site.

LightEffect Studio

Trish Karter

I am a student of  light and nature. Lately I’ve been mostly working "en plein air." I studied for five years with Frank Mason at the Art Students League in New York and in his landscape atelier in northern Vermont, which shaped my ability to start fresh and not be afraid. My most powerful learning has been during difficult and surprising passages when my heart, mind and eyes were vulnerable, open and grateful. Some of those were after bicycle disasters.  I’m still love being outside in nature on my bicycle.  Sometimes I come across a moment of light in a special place and make note to come back with my field easel. I spend my lockdown time painting and writing a Corona Journal.  Please mention "The CCAP" to the artist when you purchase from their site.
